Cable-laying works will be taking place along the route of the Greenlink Interconnector cable across Port Limits from Freshwater West to Waterford
1. MARINERS ARE HEREBY ADVISED that, commencing Monday 18th September 2023 until Sunday 31st December 2023. Cable-laying works will be taking place along the route of the Greenlink Interconnector cable across Port Limits from Freshwater West to Waterford (see chartlet).
2. The Jack-up Barge “HAVEN SEARISER 2” approx. position: 51° 39.39’ N, 005° 04.34’ W is supporting nearshore cable operations.
3. Cable-laying work will be conducted by the Subsea Construction Vessel “CONNECTOR” who will maintain a listening watch at all times on VHF Channels 12 & 16. She is being assisted by 4 Cable Pull-in Support vessels RHICS: CRC VOYAGER; CRC VANGUARD; TRISTAR & VISCOUNT.
4. “CONNECTOR” and “HAVEN SEARISER 2” will be showing the appropriate day shapes and lights as laid down in the Collision Regulations when restricted in ability to manoeuver.
5. Mariners are required to navigate with caution in these areas whilst operations are taking place, to pass by with minimum wake and observe the 500m exclusion zones guarding their operations.
6. After the cable has been laid and until suitably protected, guard vessels will be deployed to warn other ships in the area.
