Benthic Grab ecological surveys around Haven waters by Severn Guardian

  1. MARINERS ARE HEREBY ADVISED that, ecological surveys will take place on the Haven between 3rd March and the 19th March 2025.
  2. As part of Natural Resources Wales (NRW) Clean Seas Environmental Monitoring Program, (CSEMP) Benthic Grab samples will be taken by the vessel “Severn Guardian” which will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channels 12 and 16 during operations, whilst showing the appropriate shapes and lights as per the regulations and will contact VTS prior to commencing operations and again on completion. Prior to commencing operations within the designated channels of the Port, Severn Guardian to gain permission from VTS.            
  3. The surveys will take place, from ENE of Dale Point Lighthouse in the Outer Haven area to South of Picton Point in the Inner Haven area of the Cleddau River, at approximate locations shown in the reference charts.                                                                   
  4. Mariners are required to navigate with caution in these areas.
