As part of the Swansea Bay City Deal-backed Pembroke Dock Marine project, the team at the Port of Milford Haven, in conjunction with our partners, have been working hard behind the dock walls since breaking ground last August, to develop a future energy-ready port in Pembroke Dock.
With opportunities such as floating offshore wind (FLOW) in the Celtic Sea and the successful Celtic Freeport bid, the outlook is bright and prosperous for current and future generations to deliver a low carbon future at the UK’s leading energy port.
As well as safely managing the busy operation in Gate 1, focused mainly on cargoes, projects and heavy lifts, the developments in Gate 4 are moving at pace and will soon be available.
Here is a teaser of what is currently in development – we will share more with you in the coming months.
Please get in touch with Sharon Adams if you would like to make an enquiry about any of the below new and exciting developments at Pembroke Port.

Offices and workshops
We are now taking enquiries from businesses in the renewables and marine sectors looking for a new base in the brand new offices and workshops adjoining the historic Sunderland Hangars which will be complete this autumn. The offices range from 169m2 to 760m2. Plus, we have flexible large scale industrial units to let with quayside access on site, making Pembroke Port a perfect headquarters option for developers and supply chain businesses.
New wider slipway
Our new, wider slipway will be complete and available to utilise by spring 2024, offering greater flexibility for developers and marine businesses looking to test new devices, launch and recover vessels, and or supply chain businesses providing maintenance and engineering services to FLOW device operators in the Celtic Sea.
Workboat pontoon
The new pontoons just to the east of Pembroke Dock Ferry Terminal will offer short and long term berthing options for workboats, barges and jack up barges, positioned neatly between Quay 1 and the new slipway. These are already proving popular and will be available to utilise from autumn 2023.
Laydown space
Renewable devices and supporting industries all need one thing; space. So, we’ve created extra laydown space by infilling the timber pond, and completely transformed the area to the south of our footprint to provide extensive and flexible outdoor laydown space.
Pembroke Dock Marine is funded by the UK Government and Welsh Government through the Swansea Bay City Deal, and through the public and private sectors. It is also part funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government.
