MARINERS ARE HEREBY ADVISED that, with immediate effect, the following updates should be read in conjunction with the ‘Entry and Departure Guidelines for Vessels’ for the Port of Milford Haven covering Dale Anchorage.

  1. MARINERS ARE HEREBY ADVISED that, with immediate effect, the following updates should be read in conjunction with the ‘Entry and Departure Guidelines for Vessels’ for the Port of Milford Haven covering Dale Anchorage.
  2. Unless incident related, the maximum planned stay in Dale Anchorage is to be 18 hours maximum, subject to VTS discretion.
  3. No more than two commercial vessels at anchor at any given time.
  4. No gale warnings in force/forecast for Met Office sea areas Irish Sea or Lundy for expected duration of stay in the anchorage.
  5. Maximum wind speed forecast not to exceed 25 knots.  If conditions deteriorate (wind speed taken at Mid Channel Rock Beacon), anchorage is to be vacated.
  6. Bridge to be permanently manned with a suitably qualified watchkeeper and vessels engines on immediate notice. If vessel is planned to berth, the notice given by VTS will be 1 to 1.5 hrs, however this is not to be confused with onboard engine notice.
  7. Port Guidelines will shortly be updated to reflect this amendment.

  9. This notice will be cancelled when Port Guidelines have been updated and published.
