Due to Ofcom regulations the virtual AIS marker covering the location of the Mid Channel Rock Nav Buoy will, under normal circumstances, be discontinued from 8th April 2025
- MARINERS ARE HEREBY ADVISED that the Virtual AIS marking the location of the MID CHANNEL ROCKS Buoy, Q(9)15s in approx. position Lat 51º40.17’N Long 005º 10.16’W will be discontinued from Tuesday 8th April 2025. (See chartlets attached)
- In the unlikely event that the Mid Channel Rock Buoy is off station, damaged, and no longer visible then the Virtual AIS marking of the buoys position will be activated to support and aid the mariner.
- Mariners should continue to navigate with caution and report any Nav Aid defects to VTS on vhf Ch12.
- Admiralty charts 2878, 3273, 3274, Imray Y26 & 2600 ATLAS refer.
- This notice will be considered routine common knowledge and practice and will therefore not be renewed from 1st January 2026.
