Thousands of people enjoyed the annual firework display at Milford Waterfront, which was organised by Milford Haven Round Table. Thanks to sponsorship from Milford Haven Town Council and the Port of Milford Haven and money raised at the Beer Festival in July, the event was free to attend.

Fun for all the family was on offer with rides from Holmes Funfair, Pembrokeshire Fire Spinners and Gabrielle Swales face painting. Music was provided by Pure West Radio, with many acts performing live including Toby Ellis and DJ Dowsy, Kelly Williams School of Dance, and Jon Britton, who won a competition to perform a rap song that he wrote for his autistic son that went viral.

Ellis Thorne, Chairman from Milford Haven Round Table commented: “We want to thank everyone who came out and enjoyed this event with us! We are already looking forward to what we can bring to you next year. See you at the Beer Festival at the Waterfront in 2020!”

Clare Stowell, Director of Tourism for the Port of Milford Haven added: “We are so proud to have such a strong working relationship with Milford Haven Round Table. They have once again delivered an incredible event for Milford Haven. Through collaboration we can all help to make Milford Haven a place that people come to enjoy landmark events in the year like this. It was also great to see so many of the businesses at the Waterfront getting involved – we felt a very strong community spirit at the event.”

Milford Waterfront

Milford Waterfront is a multi-million pound regeneration project being led by the Port of Milford Haven. It aims to revitalise the marina and docks into a vibrant destination, adding to the existing mix of leisure, retail and dining businesses and boosting the economy by providing long term, sustainable jobs.

A number of flagship projects have already been completed at the site including the opening of four custom-built Floatel Cabins, which offer a restful retreat for visitors looking for a unique glamping experience.

The new development will also celebrate the arts, culture and heritage of the area, working in partnership with key stakeholders. The Port already hosts a busy calendar of events at Milford Waterfront such as its popular Summer Fest campaign that included the Fish Festival, Beer Festival and Street Food Festival in 2019. Visitors can also enjoy a boat trip with Discover Coast and Cleddau, which offers wildlife trips both out to Skomer Island and up the Cleddau River. Children’s activities and seasonal events such as fireworks displays and Santa visits also take place throughout the year, more information can be found on the What’s On page.

In June 2018, Pembrokeshire County Council unanimously approved a revision to the Milford Waterfront development’s outline planning consent.
