Boating enthusiasts will be able to receive safety advice and watch an adrenalin-fuelled spectacle on the water at Milford Waterfront this weekend.

The annual Milford Marina Open Day takes place on Saturday 13th May and will enable visitors to tour the facilities, watch lock gate demonstrations and learn about keeping safe whilst afloat. A number of agencies will be attending to offer practical assistance including the RNLI which will provide free lifejacket checks and a team from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service who will be on hand to check smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

Milford Haven-based Quadra Marine Services will have a range of boats for sale including the new Fiat 500 Riva; a collaboration between FIAT and luxury yacht manufacturer Riva.

In addition to the open day, Coleman Racing – Pembrokeshire’s own powerboating team - will be holding their launch party at Milford Waterfront. Sam and Daisy Coleman plan to kick off their 2017 P1 Superstock UK campaign and provide passenger laps around the course for their special guests before their first ThunderCat Racing UK event.

Melanie Durney, Marina and Docks Supervisor, said “Our annual open day is a highlight in our calendar and visitors will be able to access important safety advice, as well as enjoy the powerboat activities on the water. It will also be a good warm-up for the 15th and 16th July when the P1 Welsh Grand Prix of the Sea comes to Milford Waterfront.”

The Open Day takes place between 11am-4pm (activities are subject to operational requirements and conditions). For more details please visit www.milfordmarina.com
