Clare Stowell from the Port of Milford Haven welcomes new tenant Anna Waters to Milford WaterfrontTalented local artist Anna Waters has opened a new studio and gallery at Milford Waterfront where she will draw on inspiration from the picturesque surroundings.

Anna is one of the Port of Milford Haven’s newest tenants, having worked with the Quayside Properties team to transform the premises to suit her needs. She is now able to display her artwork which is destined for exhibitions across the country and hold hands-on workshops.

Anna’s paintings are largely inspired by Pembrokeshire’s landscape such as sunsets and sandy beaches and she will often use a variety of techniques across the same canvas in order to best capture the essence of the scene.

Clare Stowell, Property and Development Manager at the Port of Milford Haven, has welcomed Anna to Milford Waterfront. She said “It’s fantastic to have such a talented artist within our portfolio. We’re keen to have diverse mix of attractions on offer and this studio and gallery will add to the variety of things to do and see on a day out to Milford Haven. We wish Anna every success going forward.”

Anna is delighted with the new location, commenting “I’m really grateful to the Port of Milford Haven for helping me to get set up. I’m finding that the marina is a really vibrant place to work, full of activity and wonderful light that bounces off the water. It’s a great location for the workshops I host.”

The studio and gallery is located at 1 Victory House, Milford Marina and is generally open most week days, however, opening times do vary in response to Anna’s commissioned work.  If making a specific journey, it’s best to contact Anna on 07789767364 or email artistannawaters@gmail.com beforehand. Samples of her work can be viewed online at www.annawaters.co.uk and workshops can be booked by contacting Anna on 07789 767364 or artistannawaters@gmail.com

Port of Milford Haven

The Port of Milford Haven is the UK’s top energy port and Wales’ busiest port handling around 20% of Britain’s seaborne trade in oil and gas.  It is widely recognised in the industry as the energy capital of the UK.

The Port, along with the cluster of energy-related businesses along the Waterway, is a key driver of economic activity in Pembrokeshire, attracting inward investment and supporting over 4,000 jobs.

The Port of Milford Haven also owns and operates Pembroke Port and Milford Dock.  Activities such as cargo handling, ferry operations, fish landing and cruise calls as well as a first class marina are spread across these two sites.

One of the most prominent on the West Coast, the Port is in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the only Coastal National Park in Great Britain. It is marked as a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and has many areas designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

The Port of Milford Haven is a Trust port – an independent, commercially run organisation that has statutory responsibilities governed by its Acts, to maintain and improve navigation and the provision of Port and Harbour services and facilities.  Additionally, the Port provides significant financial and in-kind support to a wide variety of local causes.  All profits are retained within the business to fund these objectives.
