Milford Waterfront is running a free Christmas Card Design Competition where budding artists will get the chance to win some arty prizes in time for Christmas! Entries will be judged by In House Crafts, who have been involved in the competition for the past two years. The competition is open to all ages this year so everyone is able to enter.
The four age group categories are:
• Reception to year 2
• Years 3 – 6
• Years 7 – 11
• Age 16+
Entries can be submitted by posting them into the Christmas Post Box, located in the hallway outside of the Milford Marina Office, by the internal stairs to Martha’s Vineyard, or by post. The Christmas post box will be open for entries from 5:00pm on Friday 27th November till Wednesday 9th December at 5:00pm.
How to enter:
• Get creative and design a festive Christmas card using any materials you like. All we ask is that the design is created on card and fits in an A5 envelope.
• This is the really important part – complete the details on the entry form and put this in with your design – you can either print one off at home and complete this in advance, or you’ll find some printed copies by the post box. If the entry is for someone under 16, this form must be completed by a parent or guardian.
• Post your entry in the special Christmas Post Box which will be located in the hallway outside the Milford Marina Office, just by the internal stairs which lead to Martha’s Vineyard, or send it in the post to: Milford Waterfront Christmas Card Design Competition, c/o Milford Marina, Cleddau House, Milford Marina, Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire SA73 3AF.Whether you deliver your entry by hand or send it to us, please make sure it’s with us by Wednesday 9th December at 5:00pm.
In House Crafts, who are an independently run paper craft shop based at Milford Waterfront, will be deciding on a winner and two runners up for each of the four age categories and Milford Waterfront will be providing art themed prizes for all winners! The winners will be contacted on Wednesday 16th December and entries will be displayed around Milford Waterfront until Christmas Eve to add some festive cheer.
Natalie Hunt, Activity and Events Co-ordinator for Milford Waterfront commented: “We are excited to be doing the Christmas card competition again, especially after the year we have all had. It is more important now than ever to get into the community Christmas spirit, and this is such a lovely activity to do at home with family and friends. We felt it was only right to open this up and add a 16+ category this year, as we have all been getting into new hobbies including arts and crafts since March. We can’t wait to see Milford Waterfront looking all festive for Christmas.”

Milford Waterfront
Milford Waterfront is a multi-million pound regeneration project being led by the Port of Milford Haven. It aims to revitalise the marina and docks into a vibrant destination, adding to the existing mix of leisure, retail and dining businesses and boosting the economy by providing long term, sustainable jobs.
A number of flagship projects have already been completed at the site including the opening of four custom-built Floatel Cabins, which offer a restful retreat for visitors looking for a unique glamping experience.
The new development will also celebrate the arts, culture and heritage of the area, working in partnership with key stakeholders. The Port already hosts a busy calendar of events at Milford Waterfront such as its popular Summer Fest campaign that included the Fish Festival, Beer Festival and Street Food Festival in 2019. Visitors can also enjoy a boat trip with Discover Coast and Cleddau, which offers wildlife trips both out to Skomer and up the Cleddau River. Children’s activities and seasonal events such as fireworks displays and Santa visits also take place throughout the year, more information can be found on the What’s On page.
In June 2018, Pembrokeshire County Council unanimously approved a revision to the Milford Waterfront development’s outline planning consent.
