Milford Waterfront is running a free Christmas card design competition in collaboration with In House Crafts with the theme ‘Pets at Christmas’. The competition is open to local school children of all ages, and a range of arty prizes have been donated by Milford Waterfront for the winners of each age category. The cards will then be distributed to local nursing homes to wish the residents a merry Christmas.

Co-ordinated by In House Crafts, the project hopes to encourage creativity and collaboration in the lead up to Christmas. To enter, students are being asked to collect a blank card from In House Crafts, 2 Vanguard House, Milford Waterfront, before the 16th November. The deadline for entries is 3pm on Friday 23rd November.

Before being distributed to local nursing homes, the entries will be on display at Milford Waterfront for multiple events taking place on the 1st, 8th, and 15th December. The winners will be selected by guest judges from All Vets Pet Care and Pure Art, and announced on 1st December.

Cheryl Langton, Owner, In House Crafts commented: “This will be a great competition to get the school children excited for Christmas whilst collaborating with the local nursing homes. We are really trying to spread the holiday cheer to everyone, and we are delighted that Milford Waterfront has donated some fantastic prizes.”

Natalie Hunt, Activities and Events Co-ordinator, Milford Waterfront added: “We are really pleased to be a part of the Christmas card competition with In House Crafts. We’ve got some brilliant prizes for the winners of the competition, and we can’t wait to see all of the entries.”

Milford Waterfront

Milford Waterfront is a multi-million pound regeneration project being led by the Port of Milford Haven. It aims to revitalise the marina and docks into a vibrant destination, adding to the existing mix of leisure, retail and dining businesses and boosting the economy by providing long term, sustainable jobs.

A number of flagship projects have already been completed at the site including the installation of new lock gates that have significantly reduced locking times and the construction of new fishing buildings for the industry.

The new development will also celebrate the arts, culture and heritage of the area, working in partnership with key stakeholders. The Port already hosts a busy calendar of events at the marina such as Torch Theatre Sunset Cinema screenings and awards ceremonies which add to the diverse range of attractions on the waterfront.

In June 2018, Pembrokeshire County Council unanimously approved a revision to the Milford Waterfront development’s outline planning consent.
