Free transport is being provided for the thousands of visitors expected to descend on Milford Haven for the P1 Welsh Grand Prix of the Sea on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th July.

Nine teams are currently competing in the P1 Superstock Championship series including two Pembrokeshire teams – Coleman Racing and Milford Waterfront.  There are four UK events, with Milford Waterfront claiming a victory last weekend in Greenock. Alongside the powerboat races, there will be a P1 AquaX series in which amateur and pro personal watercraft riders are invited to compete.

Although there will be no public event parking at Milford Waterfront, free buses will be provided over the weekend to ensure that visitors and local residents can travel with ease. VIP ticket holders will be able to park at the Pill Social Centre and use the park and ride service to the race village, while premium ticket holders can park at Milford Haven School. A shuttle bus will be operating around the town centre, Hakin and Hubberston throughout the weekend, enabling people to get on and off when and wherever they want.

In preparation for the P1 Welsh Grand Prix of the Sea, volunteers from Keep Wales Tidy will be carrying out litter picks around prime viewing areas on Thursday 13th July and throughout the weekend to ensure the area is looking its best for attendees. The event is also being broadcast to a global television audience so it is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the Milford Haven Waterway to tens of thousands of people.

A variety of stalls will be on display at the two-day event, as well as entertainment from Radio Pembrokeshire and a display from the Army. Tickets are still available to book at www.milfordwaterfront.co.uk/p1-powerboat-jet-ski-racing

If any businesses or community organisations in the area are holding events over the 15th and 16th July, they can promote it on the Milford Waterfront website. Please email info@milfordwaterfront.co.uk with the details.
